The Retriever Labrador finds its bearing from its ancestors the Avon which hailed from Newfoundland and Labrador close to the Labrador Sea, Canada. This ancestral species of the dog was famous for its fishing and hunting prowess hence why they were utilized by native indigenous for their hunting and fishing expeditions.
It was in the early years of the 19th century that English sailors crossbreed the ancestral Labrador dogs with some of the more indigenous English dogs in other to produce what is now known as the Retriever Labrador.This new breed not only became excellent at hunting, but it was nurtured to be house loving, friendly, good manners, and a very loyal companion. So, in a nutshell, we can say the Retriever Labrador that is running around now have a dual place of origin; Canada and England.
With a well shaped powerful built body and a strong outlook, the Retriever Labrador is known for its working personality and physique. Their strong shoulders, equally tough legs, and jaws make them not only to be fast-paced dogs but also good guards and protectors.
